This book is THE definitive “take action” crash course in self discipline. Learning self discipline and achieving the “can do” metality is as simple as applying action-oriented self-talk which is Positive, Specific, and Present Tense. For instance, you’d say:

“I am now working on my self discipline skill” and repeat it minutes before doing the task and whenever you feel that “Hyde” is attempting to distract you. This is one useful skill you will apply to remove the subconscious negativity that leaves you crippled and disempowered, preventing you from taking control of your life.

Hyde, the infamously self-serving character of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” fame employs poisons, road blocks, and negative subconscious chatter to disarm you, delay you and sabotage your efforts to move forward on your dreams and goals. His games can cause you to start a project and then leave it unfinished and you frustrated, or done half-hearted, or overwhelmed and immobile, or not past “Go” even. Knowing his ploys and applying game changing techniques will allow you to respond and not react to the negativity for your conscious manifestion of your dreams.

Hydes’s 5 Poisons and Their Antidotes:

1. Cynicism –> Belief in Your Ability to Improve Your Self
2. Negativism –> Right Attitude
3. Defeatism –> Belief in Your Ability to Profit from the Right Knowledge
4. Escapism –> Know that Life is Based on Cause & Effect
5. Delayism –> Recognize if a Given Delay is Legitimate

Hyde’s 5 Subconscious Fears and the Subconsious Beliefs Underlying Those Fears

1. Fear of Failure – people regarding any failure as an accurate evaluation of their worth.
2. Fear of Success – a subconscious negative perception of all the responsibilities and complications that come with success.
3. Fear of Rejection – “When you try to satisfy everyone, you end up losing.”
4. Fear of Mediocrity – perfectionism is the social Siamese twin of the subconscious feeling called fear of mediocrity.
5. Fear of Risks – comfort in the presence of sameness.

With this simple self discipline system, you will learn to actually manifest your dreams in 3D by reprogramming your brain and getting rid of negative, self-defeating and self-destructive self talk that Hyde dishes out subconciously. By consciously exposing Hyde’s subterfuge, lies, sneakiness, and deviant influences you will experience continuous improvement in all aspects of your life: intellectual, physical, financial, spiritual, emotional and social live.

When you employ these easy self disciple techniques daily, you’ll find yourself doing them and rewarding yourself along the way. You will achieve your long term and short term goals by developing positive patterns of self discipline for any goal you want to turn into reality. Use visualization, vitaminds and self-talk to psychologically prepare for action. As you move forward with this self discipline process outlined below, remember that “Practice makes perfect.”

4 Stages of the Self Discipline Process are…

1. Decision to Act – choose a goal and solidify that choice. For instance, you may want to lose weight or improve your marketable skills by taking courses or become financially independent.
2. Preparation – A daily simple plan.  It requires (a) picking a goal from the goal sheet; (b) choosing an action date; (c) creating a “To do” list for an action date; (d) choosing an acton date; (e) crossing off a task once completed; (f) assigning a reward for completing each action; (g) crossing off task from list; (h) review the process; and (i) rewarding yourself.
3. Action – Use the power tools listed below. And smile a lot. Start by (a) working off a “To do” list and guesstimate the time required for each step; (b) relax between steps; (c) cancel each step when complete; and (d) reward yourself for successful completion.
4. Completion/Maintenance/Delivery – increase your awareness, attitude and continued action. For instance, don’t expect that after you’ve lost weight, it’s ok to stop your weight maintenance goals.

Psychological Power Tools for Your Personal Growth

1. Visualization – supportive mental images and self-talk. This tool serves to nullify the fatalistic “All-or-nothing” attitude.
2. Reward systems – this may be the key incredient in the self discipline recipe because it serves to dissolve Hyde’s resistance to positive change and growth. There are 3 reward methods you can apply to get rid of the “I must be perfect” negative belief.
(a) Private praise – For example, say “We did it!” Or, “It makes me feel good to get this done.”
(b) Contracts – these are self contracts to motivate you towards your goals.
(c) Gradual steps – is a step-by-step approach and the most important element in the reward system. Create a “Reward List of Personal Pleasures” between stages. It could be treating yourself to your favorite icecream, or a movie, putting money towards a gift item, seeing a play, etc.
3. Vitaminds – writing affirmations of goals in 1 short, single sentence in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd person and repeat it 3 times. Use this technique to turn each of your lifelong goals into reality and counter the “I can achieve without discomfort” negative belief system.
For example, write
I, Sunshine , write an article today. (3x)
You, Sunshine, write an article today. (3x)
She, Sunshine, writes an article today. (3x)
4. Relaxation – systematically relax and stop fighing yourself by doing deep breathing exercises. This will counter the “I can’t change” negative subconscious program.
5. Goal Sheet – this tool will turn your dreams into reality and nullify the “Something terrible will happen” negative belief. The 3 essential components are …
(a) A specific, detailed statement of your goal.
(b) State why you want to reach this goal. Clarity of purpose determines the power of your success.
(c) List the steps that this goal requires.

Use the tools! These psychological tools are your friends in your self discipline strategy. Wallowing in self criticism, doubt, fear, self defeating and fatalistic memes doesn’t serve you and your true desire to improve your self.

Reclaim your power, your birthright. Be the royal being your were born to be. Reinvent yourself. Take personal responsibility for your actions. And share this self discipline training article with your friends. :)
